It's been a rather long time since I've updated this blog, but I haven't felt truly compelled to update until tonight. I'm still living a life that I feel is honest to me, but an odd thing has happened. On 23 July 2014, I was at my local watering hole and some acquaintances had returned from the Tori Amos concert earlier that night. I struck up a conversation with one man who I never really considered an acquaintance, and we cleared the air after finding out we were both Tori fans. He admitted that he had been burned before and was skeptical about letting others into his inner circle, which was uncanny, because I've been doing that since fucking high school. I told him there was apprehension on my end for the same reason and the fact he shared the name of an ex-boyfriend in which the relationship mirrored Walk the Line and I was June Carter Cash. Once he acknowledged and accepted this, he flirted with me and we exchanged numbers. It's been a good two years since I've gained closure from that terribly dysfunctional relationship, so I proceeded lightly. We've been texting rather frequently, and I shall admit, he makes me rather giggle often.
Earlier tonight, I went to a party where my friend Cristina was a co-host. She and I have bonded rather well and share a lot of spiritual ideals. The party was over and as we sat in the backyard of her bestie, she and I, along with her like-minded friends bonded and talked about sweat lodges, energy, and this book Cristina had been reading called Zero Limits: The Secret Hawaiian System for Wealth, Health, Peace, and More by Joe Vitale and how she's incorporated it into her life. While I don't believe in astrology, numerology, and other things, I do believe in the energy humans give off, I was seriously intrigued. She told us about the Hawaiian prayer the book is based off of and a lot of things started clicking in my head, especially with the aforementioned male. The encounter and exchange with him wasn't planned; it happened rather organically and the outcomes where never warranted. This exchange got me thinking and I would love to read this book and see how it could improve many aspects of my life.
So, now I sit here, writing in a blog I don't update as often as I like, basking in the afterglow of an amazing experience, listening to music that puts me to ease. I look forward to what lies ahead and am grateful for what's going on right now.
